Sun

The Sun is the star at the center of our Solar System.  The Sun contains about 99.9% of all the mass in the entire Solar System, so it is much, much bigger than our planet Earth.  But in this diagram of the Solar System, the Sun has been reduced to about the size of a basketball.  And the rest of the Solar System has been scaled down by the same proportion, so it is small enough that you can walk from here to the orbit of each planet.  But you still might be surprised how far away the planets are, and how small they are compared to the Sun.
