Portable
Solar
System
exhibit
The portable version of the OOSS product is commonly used by educators at various levels who wish to demonstrate a true-scale, accurate, and detailed visualization of our Solar System in a way that captivates their audience.
The portable exhibit consists of 29 separate vinyl panels (durable, waterproof, and easy to clean). Depicted on these panels are the largest objects in our Solar System, shown at a consistent scale. In order to accurately illustrate each planetary system at the correct proportions, these panels come in a variety of sizes:
The diameter of each Solar System object is true-to-scale, as are the orbital distances of all 20 included moons. Each panel notes the correct distance to the adjoining panels, with measurements in feet, meters, and "paces" (the instructions define a pace as a three-foot stride, and many users find it more convenient to pace out distances, rather than using a tape measure). When the panels are laid out according to the directions, then the distance between the orbits of each Solar System object is also true-to-scale.
In addition to the physical panels, OOSS exhibits include an online component as well: each Solar System object has a smart phone code printed on its panel. Each code links to a webpage with some basic info about that object, as well as links to more detailed information. This makes it convenient to quickly look up the answers to any questions that may arise during a demonstration of the Solar System.
This portable Solar System exhibit is accurate, detailed, interactive, engaging, educational, walkable, fun, and affordable! Please use the links below to order yours now, or to contact OOSS with any questions.

In order to accurately illustrate each planetary system at the correct proportions, these panels come in a variety of sizes:
- 22 of the panels are 6" wide by 12" high.
- 4 others are also 12" in height, but a bit wider (either 12" or 18" wide).
- Another panel is 12" high, but 42" wide.
- The Jupiter and Saturn panels are 24" high, and up to 42" wide.
